Compactness, power and brilliance: these are the features that make Convergent Photonics diodes candidates for use as high-efficiency pump diodes for fibre lasers, and for high-intensity direct diode applications.
Laser diode technology, built up in over 40 years of research, development and production of semiconductor laser sources, is based on the engineering of MOCVD epitaxial structures, high technological process control and proprietary laser cavity facet passivation technology. This technology ensures top-level performance in terms of efficiency, power and quality of emission spectrum and optical beam, together with proven reliability, guaranteed by the qualification and validation standards applied to the products.
INDUSTRIAL
Our semiconductor laser multi-emitter technology enables the processing of a wide range of products for industrial applications, based on Near Infrared (NIR) wavelengths at 915 nm and 976 nm, which are optimal for pumping industrial lasers with ytterbium-doped fibre. The recently developed 450 nm emitting blue laser sources are among the most innovative components on the market in terms of dimensions, weight and efficiency, and enable interesting, new direct diode material processing applications of high reflectivity materials such as aluminium or copper, or jewellery applications for precious metal welding.
MEDICAL
The multi-emitter technology of semiconductor lasers also allows the development of a range of products for medical applications, based on Near Infrared (NIR) wavelengths at 793 nm, which are optimal for pumping industrial lasers with thullium-doped fibre. The recently developed 450 nm-emitting blue laser sources rank among the most innovative components on the market in terms of dimensions, weight and efficiency, enabling innovative medical applications such as oral surgery, soft tissue ablation, clotting, etc.
